The hotel is located in a nice area of the medina, away from the noisy areas but still centrally located. the rooms are pretty and well-decorated with traditional Moroccan furniture. the bathrooms are spacious and have reliable hot water. the staff is friendly and accommodating, providing early check-in and free breakfast. the rooftop terrace is a great spot to enjoy breakfast with views of the surrounding area. the hotel offers a map and assistance in navigating the medina.
Some rooms may not be soundproof, so conversations from the ground floor can be heard.

The staff was very friendly and helpful, providing me with a city map and some pointers for the visit. The room was quite small, but as I was travelling on my own it was adequate and it was spotless with a good shower. The larger (and more expensive) rooms are really spacious, airy and beautiful. What I enjoyed was being able to relax on the rooftop with a pot (not a glass!) of mint tea. The breakfasts were good and varied and if you decide to eat in, the three course menu includes water and a hot drink and is excellent value for money (besides being really delicious)
It is a bit difficult to find and off the beaten track, but you quickly figure out how to find it on your own. However, don't come with heavy suitcases!

We had a fantastic stay at this hotel! The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful, especially Mohamed who was always there to assist us with anything we needed. The hotel was beautiful, and we were lucky to be upgraded to a nicer room. The terrace was a great addition, providing us with a relaxing space to enjoy the night with a lovely view. The location was perfect, situated in the residential area of the medina. It was close enough to the main attractions, but far enough away from the really noisy areas. The neighborhood gave us a true sense of being in the heart of the city.
Nothing, all good!

Delicious food for dinner made by family providing hotel. Good prices for accommodation and meals. Friendly staff, very helpfull ! Perfectly located in the heart of Medina, good for shopping and visiting Fes. Proffesional and helpfull guide organized by hotel. I would reccommend this Riad !
There is no possible to fing hotel alone. You need to arrange transfers from airport organized by hotel or just ask them for guide or help to find hotel in Medina. Parking for about 30 dirhams but 300m from hotel outside of medina walls.Another problem is smell in toilets but we cannot expect nothing better when living in 600 years old building.

Nice location in the middle of the medina. Breakfast at the rooftop-terras in the sun, excellent. Very nice personnel, excellent food and nice Moroccan wine (especially the rosé, but ask if it's cold).

I recently stayed at a charming hotel in the heart of a historical city. The hotel is located in a residential area close to all the main attractions, making it convenient for exploring. One of the highlights of my stay was the panoramic terrace, offering breathtaking views of the entire old town. The rooms were comfortable and clean, and the balcony provided a nice spot to relax with a cup of tea. The included breakfast was delicious and served with panoramic views, making it a great way to start the day.
All was absolutely fine during my stay.

The hotel staff is very friendly and helpful. They gave us a better room at no additional cost. The breakfast was very good. The hotel is located in the old medina within a short walk from all important sightseeing destinations. The roof terrace opens a magnificent view on the medina.
The only real problem with this hotel is the smell of canalisation spreading in the rooms.

Great hosts, great food (we ate all our dinners there), located just minutes from Place R'cif (taxi drop-off point)

Not much... it was definitely cheap.... I guess it's a positive point
Everything! The owners are rude and pushy, always trying to sell you an extra service, even when you already said two hundred times... The owner watches football very loud all the time... impossible to get to sleep before midnight. The Location is also terrible and dodgy... there are no other Ryads around, so everybody in the city will know you're from Dar Tamo... wherever you are in the city (in shops, in restaurants), people will offer you to take you home or something like.

Very friendly owners and staff. Tours to Meknes, Volubilis, Ifrane and Fez medina can be arranged by owners. Excellent breakfast and dinner (starter, main, dessert and tea for just 12 EUR). Roof terrace for relaxing and sunbathing. Staff can take you to local hammam. Family atmosphere, cosy and realx atmospere. Very central location in old medina. Beautiful building, nice room. We stayed in the terrace room with view on the terrace and breathtaking view on the old city of Fez. If you are looking for a stay in friendly, warm and cosy place in family atmospere, this is the place to be!

no hot water in the rooms; if you go back after midnight the men that work there is not very happy and you can have an argument about that.

Everything was flawless during our stay at Dar Tamo! Being 2 girls traveling alone, we were extra cautious about our time in Fes. Dar Tamo had the best reviews, so we took the last room available; worth the little bit extra money, and still a great value. We were greeted with warmth and "moroccan whiskey" and the hospitality continued throughout the entire stay. Easy to arrange airport transfers via email (15 euro pp) and they helped us arrange a guided city tour of Fes; worth every penny. Ate dinner there both nights- for 12 euro we got 3 courses home- cooked deliciousness and traditional food! Fantastic location and views in the medina. I cannot wait to stay there again next time I go to Fes- and I will be back!
The beds were hard, but I think that's pretty common in that part of the world. If you can't sleep without a pillow-top mattress, this wouldn't be the best rest for you!

Great views and helpful staff. The terrace view was really amazing, perfect to start the day with a cup of tea while looking out over the city. The staff were incredibly helpful, from arranging a local tour to recommending good restaurants nearby. The location is also perfect for exploring the city, with a central location close to many landmarks. Another great aspect was the breakfast, with traditional dishes that were really tasty.
Room was a bit small and dark and the bathroom had a strange smell. The room was a little smaller than expected, but still comfortable.
